Shaykh Habib bin Abdul Qadir Assegaf was one of 16 siblings, the sons and daughters of Alm. Abdulkadir Al-Habib bin Abdurrahman Assegaf, a revered religious leader in Jami 'Asegaf at Kliwon Market, Solo, Indonesia. He inherited a strong religious and moral foundation from his beloved father, Habib Sych, and continued his education under the guidance of his late uncle, Alm. Habib Ahmad bin Abdurrahman Assegaf from Hadhramaut.

Habib Sych received a comprehensive education with unwavering support and attention from Alm. Al-Imam, Al-Arifbillah, Al-Habib Muhammad Anis bin Alwiy Al-Ethiopia, the Imam of Riyadh Mosque and a prominent figure in the magom community of Ethiopia. Under their guidance and patience, Habib Sych bin Abdulkadir Assegaf grew to embody the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, starting in the city of Solo.

Over time, as his profound love for the Prophet blossomed, many individuals unknowingly found themselves drawn to him and began following his journey. This led to the formation of Ahbabul Musthofa, attracting thousands of pilgrims who seek to delve deeper into the significance of loving the Prophet Muhammad as a way of life.
